Residing Dreams (Chapter 194)

I knew I was much too young to be thinking this way. I was twelve at the time, and Casimir would turn twelve in September. In spite of all of my silly fantasies, I knew that Casimir’s mind was focused on more important matters. You see, we only talked about his problems once in a while. He was afraid that if he said too much, then I wouldn’t want to see him anymore. But I remembered the age old question which asked: If a tree falls in the forest, but no one hears it, does it still make a sound? Yes. If a child is suffering and crying out in pain, but no one hears him, does he still make a sound? Yes, indeed. Yet I heard Casimir. He was the suffering boy crying out in distress. But I was the whimpering girl whispering truth and drowning in insecurities. Could we possibly help each other? The matter was, we had. We did more for each other than we could’ve ever done for ourselves. No bottle of medicine or arts and crafts project could ever be a substitute for that.
