Residing Dreams (Chapter 211)

But once again,I stayed silent.Casimir looked at me wondrously, yet it was clear that he was tired and worn out.”So,how are you?”I asked.”I’m feeling a little better,I suppose. But I’m not very fond of all this medical treatment,” he remarked, glancing at the doctor, who crossed his arms. Then,Casimir dismissed the doctor from the room for a moment. He indifferently walked out,and I deemed this ironic, bold and haughty all at once. There were many occasions when the doctor told me to step out of the room. Casimir sat up in bed and stared into my eyes. “I’m sorry that I worried you,” he replied. “I didn’t mean for you to find me last night,” Casimir whispered. “This isn’t about me. It isn’t.The person you’re hurting the most is yourself,” I told him.He nodded. “Yes. That’s true. But the matter is, now, I have more regrets about it, since I actually have something to live for. Or,rather, someone,” he said wistfully, but almost smiled. I took his hand.I knew what he was saying, and the bittersweet moment enveloped me.
