Fayville, We Have a Problem [Celebutante 4]

Moon sat at her desk, frowning. Usually she loved nothing more than sitting at her antique wooden desk, but today she was troubled.

On the desk sat a folded pink paper, the initials “GWâ€? written in script on the front. On the inside was an invitation to the biggest party of the year. A personal note was scribbled on the bottom.

“Moon—
Here’s my invite, now it’s ur turn! Can’t wait 2 see the set of ur rent’s new movie!!!

LYL ,
Ginny

Biting her lip, Moon took the invitation and dumped it in the trash. Suddenly the door to her bedroom opened, and her mother walked in.

Though beautiful, Claire Garrett had never really made it out of the 90s. Her glossy black hair was pulled back in a pink scrunchie, and she was clad in a sweatshirt, jeans, and Converse high-tops. Moon cringed inwardly. Sometimes her has-been mother could be extremely embarrasing.

“Hi, Honey,â€? Claire cooed, walking over to her daughter, “How was school?â€?

“Oh, you know.â€? Moon kicked the invite away, but not before her mother saw it.
