“I’ll tell you anything, anything!” he cried helplessly.
“I knew you’d come to your senses. Now, about the Resistance-”
He looked rather surprised. “Oh no, I can’t tell you about that. Can tell you anything else but that.”
“Listen you,” I began.
“Can’t do much else, can I?”
“Well then, if you’re keen on listening, why don’t you tell me-?”
“Tell you what?”
“About the Resistance!”
His face lit up in surprise. “A resistance? That can’t be good. You should get rid of it right away.”
That’s what I’m trying to do!
“Well!” he answered cheerfully. “Why didn’t you say so?”
Why was he being so difficult?! Were these two really worth all the trouble they’d put me through?
I seized his bound wrist, & began to ever-so-slowly push it in a painful direction. He hissed in protest.
“I’ll come back later. In the meantime, you decide whether you will cooperate. If you don’t, you may have to deal with the Commissioner; I assure you he’s much less merciful than I.”
I let go, turned on heel, & stormed out.
