Parent’s shouldn’t force expectations on their children. Every parent knows this, but they fail to practice it. They shouldn’t expect a kid to excel at school just because that’s what everyone wants. You should be happy with the grades your kid gets and encourage them to do better, not demand they get straight A’s. Parent’s shouldn’t expect their children to follow in their footsteps and stay on the plan they carved out for them… and most of all parents shouldn’t ever expect to tell their child who they can and can’t love.

That’s what mine tried to do to me and it turned out miserably. They tried to get the gay out of me by moving me away, refusing to let me see my girlfriend, and even sending me to church.

None of these things worked and the only point I want to make is this: Parents don’t try to force your expectations on your kids, because if you do it never works out in the end.
