8: Flight and Fight

“3, 2, 1”

Bill and Richard’s rifles fired at the exact same time, hitting 1 guard in the face and the other above his ear. The Euclids men opened fire before they crossed the bridge. Gordan, Ron, and Evan dived into the quarters.

“Come on Sid, get this thing going.”

The shots were Sid’s signal to randomly pull levers and flick switchs in hope that one would start the engines, but the lack of action made Bill nervous.

“Lets go sid!”

Just as the first of the Euclids men stepped onto the bridge, the engines roared to life under the Red Bell and the boarding bridge crumpled under the feet of the soldiers. Columns of black smoke billowed up from the back of the Red Bell. Evan raced up to the helm and pushed Sid from the controls. A few clicks and the JAB began to gain speed. As the Red Bell pulled away from the Euclid, Richard peck chucked a molotov cocktail onto the stern of the the following JAB .

1/2 a mile back, the 2nd JAB was thrown into full speed, and easily began to gain on the Red Bell.
