the plan

“Jen, please don’t hang up. Just give me 2 minutes, I really need to talk to you.” Alarm bells ringing everywhere. All logic told me hang up, but I was afraid of tommorow’s newspaper if I did. “Look, Gavin you can’t keep doing this. I have a family, I have a toddler and PTA meetings and carpool.” I felt guilty, but what else could I do. I moved on and life asked alot of me nowadays.
” I know you have a family and a life without me, I understand all that but this is bigger than us. Don’t you see? It finally hit me today while I was at that cube downtown that I despise and I just couldn’t sit anymore. Remember when we were kids and we said we’d change the world, remember? I know what I’m supposed to do now, what we’re supposed to do. Jen, are you still there?” He was venturing into lunacy, did he have a relapse? Oh lord I couldn’t handle this again. “Jen, I know you think I’m crazy, but we can change things. It has to start here, in Birmingham.”
“Why” I asked.
“Let me start at the begining.”
