Glistening Skies (Part Two)

“You arrived sooner than I imagined” the Queen said softly to the boy. “It must be getting worse”

“I don’t understand”, said the little boy. He was confused. A new world surrounded him, beauty he’s never imagined; maybe it was all a dream.

“My name is Queen Jouet. Welcome to my kingdom. Shall we?”, she motioned her shimmering hand down the hallway. The little boy looked to the sparkle, who spiraled around him, as if to encourage him to proceed.

Reluctantly, he took Queen Jouet’s hand. It fealt warm, kind. She smiled at him, “My kingdom’s name is Mystalan. It has clear blue waters and glistening skies. Have you seen them?” she asked.

“I have. I flew over them. It was fast, but I could tell they were beautiful.” He passed by many pictures as they walked. Photos of landscapes so rich he almost felt as if he was there, flowers he might be able to smell if he really tried.

“I am glad you saw them, they will have more meaning to you soon. Tell me, young one, what is your name?”
