The Dream

Touching the cold concrete base of the statue reminded Rebecca of Kevin’s dream to become a sculptor; always fitting of the man’s personality. Kevin was always able to see the beauty in anything, even the rawest of materials. He could look at a rough piece of tough marble and envision a smooth painting of a woman emerging outward, showing her beauty to the world.

Rebecca always liked to think of Kevin’s artisan eye for seeing the beauty within herself; like an apple on a tree, hiding behind the strong tree’s leaves, Rebecca felt herself staying farther and farther behind the mask of work. Her schedule as a psychotherapist would tend to take up her entire day, leaving small amounts of time for love.

And then Kevin, green eyed and an air of casual romanticism about him, waltzed into her office one rainy day…
