You Picked Me

Out of all other authors’ stories to read, you picked me.

Maybe it was one pale, thin ray of hope that said that I_ would be different. _I would defy normal standards in favor of ones I am more fond of: my own.

Perhaps instead of building yet another pyramid to hold our lost leaders, we can cast them to the sea, so that they may float on forever, along with their standards, in hopes we may join them with some of our own.
