The interview consisted of Lucius Banks nodding thoughtfully, his brow furrowed in what might have been thought, or pain.

Across the desk from him, Eugene Roberts rambled on and on. “That’s what I’m saying, you know what I’m saying? I’m all about the bling.”

Lucius nodded.

“That’s the way I’ve always been, coming up, you know. I see something shiny, I got to have it.”

Lucius nodded.

“But you know how it is. You’re doing well for yourself, got your own company and everything. You don’t get that unless you’re out there every day, working the angles. You know what I’m saying?”

Lucius nodded, his forehead now definitely throbbing.

“So, what do you say, do I got this job up in here?”

Lucius’s nod slowed. The way this young man talked literally gave him a headache. However, he seemed to have initiative, and he seemed to be someone who would fit in with a certain crowd. In fact, it pained him to admit it, but the young man almost reminded himself twenty years ago. Lucius forced a smile. “When can you start?”

    Interesting…What’s the job, exactly?

  • from Stovohobo:

Where are all these Lucius Banks interviews coming from? Are they all connected, perhaps? Interesting, I’d like to see where one goes with these.

Sorry for the confusion. I’m participating in the 3-Day Novel Writing Contest (in 24 minutes), and the stories with the tag ‘Taxi Adventure’ have been my exercises in making it interesting. Lucius Banks is the owner of Taxi Adventure, and these stories show the various characters getting hired. After the contest, I may work them into the final book.
