Today he sits in front of the television, furiously tapping at the game controller. A blurry version of a fight between Superman and Wonderwoman is spread across the large screen in over-contrasted colour. He yells unintelligible mumbles at the characters, as if he believes they will heed his warning. He watches the figures roam around the screen, until they face each other in a deadly stare-off – Superman poised to pound Wonderwoman into the wall of the empty warehouse they are fighting in. He taps three of the keys in quick succession and sends Wonderwoman sprawling into a heap against the grey plaster. The boy stands, triumphant and shouts harsh words at the female lump of pixels displayed in the game. He hears his mother calling him into the dining room and places the game controller on the coffee table, perched on the edge for fast pick-up when he returns from dinner.
