It Ain't Ever Gonna' Stop

The radio died down as the last killer guitar cords faded into the indignant rumbling of the engine. For a moment, Dean thought he would be okay, he would escape the relentless amorphous force of evil pursuing him. The radio cackled back to life, thundering.

All the things I see in you

The guitars screamed; the lyrics burned his brain. Fear crept anew and seized control of his body. A shudder ran from his toes to his scalp setting his hair on edge.

and when the light in the morning

For a moment, he was reassured. Perhaps this song was a message of hope. His foot eased off the pedal.

I see the sun shining, down on me

The car did not slow down. The night sky opened in searing light.

I feel the heat of love’s flame, down on me

The landscape peeled away in a cascade of leaping flames.

I’m so wet from love raining, down on me

The now rent sky let forth a torrent of flaming rain that pelted the car mercilessly. The song was no message of hope. Satan just has a sense of humor.
