Missed the ‘d’ on sentenced, but otherwise a clever way to use all the words. Not the meaning of ‘avoirdupois’ I found, but could be right. These were some tricky words to use.

Liked this. You can certainly do worse than Pavarotti as a distraction. I wish I would have been able to see him live, although I am probably just saying that because he’s dead. Also, if I were sentenced to thirty years, you’d better believe I’d keep trying to find new ways to escape. I mean, at that point, you have nothing to lose and it’s pretty exciting. It’s like a sport. At least, that’s the way I imagine it. Sometimes I wish I’d go to prison just so I could break out.

Nice tone in this one. Just a few nit-picky things:
Well, this one isn’t nit-picky, really, but I should add “imbroglio” to my list of amazing words.
Okay, “avoirdupois weight” is a little redundant. “avoirdupois” is just fine in that sentence, I believe.
Other than that, there might just be a few sentence structures that seem different to me, but it’s probably just me.

I liked the usage of the words, and like stovohobo, think that “imbroglio” is covered in awesome sauce.

I like that you used one of the words twice. The only nit I have t pick is that Stan’s “easy as pie” comment should have been past tense like the rest of the story.
