I glared at Mrs. Edith Yearwood. “How I’m I supposed to know?”
“But, Noel, haven’t you read your mother’s book?” Mrs. Yearwood’s smile nearly cracked.
“No,” I scowled.
“You should! It was a brilliant work of art! A best-seller!” She cried incredulously. I’ll put it on my to-do list. I thought. This is why I never leave the house.
Last year, my mother’s book, The Answer Life, was on the best-seller list. That began my troubles. And, it also began my book of memoirs still in the making: Ten Reasons NOT to Let Your Mum Become a Best-Seller.
