Goin' Out, Goin' Out Tonight

Rolling down Route 7 with the top down Carl and Emmit grinned into the roaring wind. The world was their oyster, the city their playground. Such were the thoughts of two college freshman on break.
“Just think,” said Carl, tugging his cowboy hat on tighter, “2 hours are we’re flyin’ high, fine as wine, havin’ ourselves a big and rich time!”
Blinking a little, Emmit asked, “Can it be Dandelion Wine? It has a rather literary ring to it.”
Carl looked across at his friend, considering his dark clothes and dyed black hair, “Why are we friends again?”
“I always assumed there was a fair amount of pity involved.”
“And I thank you for that,” Carl replied with a wink.
“Can we back to that one bar, with the cool lights?”
“The Uno?”
“No, the one that played lots of Fall Out Boy.”
“The Goatshead?”
“No, no, the one with all the neon.”
“The Four Leaf Clover?” Carl asked incredulously.
“Yeah, that one!” was Emmit’s enthusiastic response.
“Dude, that was a gay bar.”
“Oh,” Emmit replied, then after a pause, “So that’s a no?”
