Always Worth It

Always worth it, I read to myself on the J train. I often try to pass time on the train by reading ads, a book, playing with my Sidekick®, or, my personal favorites, daydreaming or sleeping. However, something disturbed me while I was riding. I glanced over to the nearest door, and I understood what it was.

I’m on my way to pick up my lil’ sis from school. Lucky for me, and perhaps her, she gets out later than most kids. However, I see a group of teens coming on to the train. That’s when why hit me.

Why is this beer ad so young, fresh and new? The people in it look younger than me and I only have a year and a half of legal bar experience under my belt. These kids probably think drinking is something cool, hip and fresh, that most early twenties do. So the Lie shifted from drags to drinking I thought. Maybe that guy was right: We forgot that ads like these are an insult.
