Kisses, Not the Chocolate

His face was so close to mine, I could smell his breath.Minty and something sweet, something I just couldn’t put my finger on.
“Today,” I whispered “was more fun than the past week combined.”
He smiled that killer smile back at me, it was one of those times, the ones where you know something’s going to happen.
And then he kissed me.Right there, in Garrett’s room, I could feel his heartbeat as we kissed swaying to the music. I looked him in the eye, he stared back, his shocking green eyes locking with mine.I smiled back, feeling so great, stuck in the moment.
“Garrett! Honey, are you home?!” a woman’s voice boomed through out the townhouse.
He rolled his eyes, shaking his head as his long hair swished with the sudden movement.
“I guess you’re gonna meet my mom.” he said grabbing my, now warm, hand.
“I really love that song!” I said as he pulled me through the long hallway with pictures of a younger Garrett I’ve never seen before. My eyes only on the photo of him with ice cream all over his face.
