“No.”

“Why not?!”

“Because.”

“That’s not a reason!”

“Because…I don’t get it. Why would you want to go Stone Mountain anyway? You’re from New York.”

“What difference does that make?

“What difference?! You’re going to a monument dedicated to the leaders of the Confederate army. One of them probably killed your great-great—“

“Well, first of all, they didn’t kill my great-great-anything because my family didn’t even get here until like 40 years after the Civil War. Secondly, I really don’t care who it’s dedicated to. It’s an interesting piece of artwork.”

“You call that art?”

“Oh, can we please not get into another argument over what constitutes art?”

“Fine. But how can you not care who it is? I mean, if it was a giant portrait of, I dunno, Hitler carved into the side of a rock, you’d really find it just as ‘interesting’?”

“Hold on. Did you just compare Robert E. Lee to Hitler, because I don’t care where you’re from, that just doesn’t seem fair.”

“My point was—“

“Yes?”

“We’re not going.”
