Memories Under Lock And Key

“Okay, well, I guess I have to accept that I have a woman living inside my head.”

Just like I have to accept I’m a woman trapped in a man’s body. I could almost see her smirking.

“Funny. Very funny. Speaking of which, I have to ask you something.”

All right. Given the situation, you’re entitled.

“I should hope so.” I had to think about how to phrase this. “Do you… If Jenny and I… Are you able to stop seeing everything I do?”

Oh, yes. Thankfully! She laughed. Believe me, some of the people I’ve jumped into haven’t exactly been… angels. I know who Jack the Ripper really was, but I keep all those memories under strict lock and key. Just trust me, you do not want to see those.

“Okay, I’ll take your word for it.” I shuddered at the thought of what she’s seen. “Oh, hey. Out of curiosity. You jump out of sequence. Your trip on the Santa Maria…”

Was complete and utter hell! Her turn to shudder. I jumped there right after the Titanic went down. The universe has a sick sense of humour.
