Albrecht's Plan (XXVIII)

Adrovan stepped in. “If I may,” he said, “we must get back to the problem at hand. As this could potentially affect both of our worlds.”

That caught our attention. “Alex, what is he talking about?”

“I have no idea,” Alex replied, a shocked look on his face. “This is the first I heard about it.”

Adrovan looked at us all. “Albrecht, as you know, is a megalomaniac.”

“That’s putting it mildly,” I said. “When I created him, I wanted a major antagonist. So, I gave him a desire to take over not only this world, but any worlds connected with it.”

The gravity of what I just said hit me hard. “No! No, he can’t seriously…”

“Oh, but he does, my boy. There are a handful of us who know the truth of this world and its history. Somewhere, somehow, Albrecht discovered this, too. He also found a ritual to allow him access to your world, and he will use it to bring an army through with him.”

We were speechless. We all knew that all the nations’ combined military machines were no match for an army armed with magic.
