Macy 8: Poem To My Heart

Derrick began slowly,
“As I watched her face light up,
it seemed impossible that she was real.
She seemed to be that special one
set to help me deal.
I couldn’t understand her at the beginning.
But then again, her beauty was completely unending.

She’d just smiled at me.
And it seemed as if I just began to see.

She’d speak with a velvety edge.
And she was fearless,
jumping off a ledge.

She’d laugh like an angel from above.
And I knew that I had finally fallen in love.”

Macy sniffed as he finished the last line. “Thats…thats amazing and beautiful and witty and so many other things. Who is it about?”

Derrick replied, “Thanks, a couple of the lines are too long and everything doesn’t really flow.” He was obviously avoiding her question.

“Who is it about?” Macy asked again, curiousity written across her face, though she knew who he was about to say. “Well?”

Derrick sighed and glanced away from Macy, before silently whispering, “Its uh about you.”
