A Pointless Existence

Do you ever get the feeling that nothing you do will matter in the long run?

It’s not just about feeling insignificant in a world where only a frighteningly small amount of people will know your name. It’s about waking up every day and asking yourself why you do what you do. Does it make any difference?

High school. Every day at 7:30 am, I am crowded into a noisy classroom with students who have no interest in learning and a teacher who would rather simply hand out some grades and call himself a giver.

Everything seem so pointless. Working hard for something to pay off; something which might not. Every A+ that my peers receive, every football game our team wins; does any of this matter? In thirty years, we won’t be glad that we did well on a math test, or ran a six minute mile.

I’m so tired of living my life like an extra; a pointless, shuffling existence. I want to be the leading lady, but everything pushes me back into the background.

Maybe we’ve just all forgotten how to lead our own lives.
