Lonely in New York

As Grace walked into her apartment, she set down her keys and looked at her answering machine. Rolling her eyes, she saw that she had 3 messages.

David.

The phone rang. She let it continue ringing. Soon enough, the beep came. “Grace, honey, pick up! Babe, we gotta talk! I’m so lost without you!”

“Jerk.” She grumbled to herself. No way she was taking that idiot back. He didn’t undertand anything, anyway. Couldn’t get why she picked music over being something more “intelligent”, like a doctor, or a lawyer, or an engineer.

Sitting down on a chair, she pulled a binder from her backpack, and flipped through some scores of sheet music.

However, she couldn’t keep her mind off of the two violin players she’d seen that night. John and Adam. Amazing musicians. After David was out of the picture, Grace didn’t have too many friends. She was lonely in New York.

Moments later, she was on the phone with her voice coach, writing down a couple of phone numbers.
