In Need of Control

I shook my head, “No, not an Assassin enchantment, which is really a curse,” I added under my breath. The corner of his mouth twitched upward slightly. I continued, “I’m The Fae. It was an enchantment released by the Fae when—” I cut off, frowning.
“Yes?” he pressed.
Suddenly my blood ran cold and I hissed, “Can you control yourself?”
He understood instantly, “How many?”
“Ten,” I replied, “Two vampires.”
He closed his eyes, shuddering slightly. I bit my lip, watching him. The shuddering stopped, and he opened his eyes again, “I think so.”
I nodded, “Plug your ears,” I turned slightly to my left and shouted, my voice booming, “Davin, Richmal! get behind the others.
I turned back to my brother, “Just a precaution. Now listen, this is going to be difficult, just trust me, ok? I swear I’ll explain everything as soon as I can. Now, can you just try to appear normal? Or at least in control.”
He nodded stiffly, hiding his hands so his balled up fists would not betray him.
We awaited the Magistrates.
