Sweet lips, a modern fairytale - Princess meets Prince

Katie couldn’t afford to live like a freak. So, with a tear unable to wash away even a tiny strand of her mascara, gestured her final choice. She wrote it, for being sure “Don’t take my face away, I don’t need a voice to be pretty”. Doctor Ten warned her of the consequences, but sipping liquid foods for a lifetime seemed to her a price to pay.
After some day of reclusion, Katie decided to get back to her life. Ever silent, she taught herself to smile politely, to kiss sparingly and with no intimacy implied, and a few sign to enhance her mystery.
A big ball was held in the house of a rich family. Katie attended, with a long, flowing, glamorous cocktail dress. She saw a man, very young, almost a boy, but she desired him, from the first moment. For the first time, she regretted being unable to smile, or enjoy a kiss. As the princess she thought she was, she dropped her handkerchief, then walked alluringly in her imposed silence in one of the open rooms. She sat in the darkness, waiting. The door opened again …
