Stacy led us to Beth’s room, and we laid Amanda down on the fluffy princess sheets. Stacy went to go get a glass of cold water to wake Amanda.
A few moments after she left the room, Charlie received a text message.
‘From: Katrina
WHERE DID U GO ? Y DID U DITCH ME ? WHAT DID U DO TO MANDY ? JERK.’
Charlie chuckled and tucked his phone back into his pocket.
“Aren’t you gonna reply?” I inquired.
He just stared for a moment before pulling his cell phone back out.
‘To: Katrina
I went away. Sorry I ditched you. I did nothing to Mandy.’

He looked back up at me.
“Happy?” He bitingly asked.
“Elated,” I replied with a glare, “But I have one thing to ask you..”
“What?” Charlie questioned.
“Why Amanda?” I wondered, “Why did you ruin her life?”
