Fire

We were sitting by the water’s edge. The sun had just gone down, tomorrow night we were planning on the long flight across Derya (you humans would call it the ‘Atlantic’). We planned to land somewhere in northern Faelyn, the country where the Fae once resided. It is in the jungle of Lianabella (You would call it ‘Amazon’ in ‘Brazil,’ I believe). We were staying here day for Ranulf, he wished to soak up as much energy as he could from the full moon tonight, and I was to take advantage of the bright sunny day tommorrow. I needed to be full on energy for the Fae side of me if I was to fly across Derya tomorrow night.
We chose night so we would not be seen so easily by boats or planes. Ranulf was crouched beside me, poking a small fire. I reached out, sticking my hand in the depths of the small fire. I shuddered with delight as the fire’s heat rippled through my veins. I pulled my hand back, unscathed, a ball of fire hovering about my palm. I quietly chucked it my mouth, feeling it burn it’s way down my throat.
