I am Ceirra

I ran up the stairs, the tears stinging my eyes. Brit’s word’s echoed in my mind painfully.
But she’s emo!
“No! Ceirra, wait!” I could hear Jesse behind me, but I continued running blindly, nearly falling twice. I slammed out the door, full-out sobbing now as I ran towards the parking lot.
“Ceirra!” He was right behind me. I felt him grab my arm, pulling me up short roughly. Mindlessly, I scratched at his face. I just wanted to get away. I wanted everything to go away. I wanted people to stop staring. I wanted to be alone.
The struggle was short. I was no match for his hard muscles and he soon had my arms locked at my sides. I felt idiotic. I felt angry. I wanted to stop crying but I couldn’t. Why couldn’t he just leave me alone? I stopped struggling, giving up, going limp in his grasp.
“Ceirra,” he whispered, releasing my arms so he could pull me closer. It was effortless to lean my head on his shoulder, to begin to slow the tears. He stroked my hair, sending a shiver down my spine, “I’m sorry.”
