The Dove of Steel (34)

With a slight curiosity, Isaac looked up into the sky, and Linda was right, something was weird, the clouds weren’t quite right, almost as if something was altering them…

“WILD MAGIC STORM ! GET DOWN !”

With that the Judge Sulkoske looked up at the sky and his eyes immediately widened.

“You heard the man! Get down! Hurry! Ready the Aegis! Tell the magiengineers to prepare themselves!”

But the Judge’s warning came too late, already the sky had changed into a storm of thunder, ice, earth and fire. A human sized flaming meteor came crashing into the deck, followed by hail of the same size. Men and women alike were maimed in all manner of ways by the uncontrolled magic. Isaac could hear their screams, and someone yell,

“Holy edicts! The engines! They’re going to explode!”

But unlike Isaac, the Judge was not imperturbable, and he was at a loss for words as his crew died and struggled around him. Men were screaming for his aid, hoping he could save them, yet their faith was misplaced.
