The Cottonwood

Here we go again. This land holds so many memories for us, good and bad. This would be a bad one. I could feel it.

The sun was shining deceivingly through the trees. I sat on the cold ground beside our tree and waited for him. I could see him in the distance, walking slowly toward me, in no more of a hurry to see me than I was to see him.

This would be our last meeting here.
