Love Letters

I love you and I always have. Of course, it’s possible that I haven’t even met you yet. But, for as long as I can remember, I’ve been creating you in my mind. I take the best qualities from every guy I meet. You’re faithful and trustworthy and kind. And you’re handsome. You love God, your family and America. And you love me. Whoever you are, you’ll find me. And we’ll know. And everything will be just right.

She closed her journal and, as she did every night, said a quick prayer for her future husband.

“God bless him. Keep him safe. Keep him pure. Help me know him when I see him. As always, thy will be done. In Jesus’ name…â€?

It was true that she was a hopeless romantic. But she liked it that way. She was waiting for her fairy tale moment, and she wasn’t willing to settle for anything less. She had experienced what seemed to her way more than her share of failed romances. Maybe her expectations were too high. But she was willing to keep waiting.
