Ready?

Macie slipped the cotton-soft material over her head. She stepped into her shorts. She picked out the perfect shoes. She went into her element, decorating her face, like painting a picture, execpt with make-up. Her hair was next. Would she put it up? Straighten it down? Once she figured it out, all she had to do was choke down some breakfast, then she was gone.

Here comes the bus, she thought.

“Maaciee!” yelled Staci, her best friend for almost ten years. “You look great. Are you ready for high school? Cause I know I am.”

“Yeah, a little nervous. You think he’ll like what i’m wearing?”

“Who? Jason?? Of course he will, your gorgeous.”

“Thanks,” Macie said shyly, ” Oh look, we’re almost there.”
