In real life they are almost certain they got the right guy, but there is always that lingering bit of doubt also. So since no one knows for sure I decided to spin it in the more tragic direction. Im such a joy—I know (lol).

Tad, I really have to say the revised version reads a lot clearer than the original. Great job editing. Originally I was wondering if the wrong man was arrested because the narrator was actually the killer… This makes more sense to me (assuming I read it right, that is).
So I was all”smuttynose?” That sounds SOOOOO fake, but apparently its real , which is hilarious(in a tragic double murder sort of way). Really nice ficlet, and kudos on the oddness of the inspiration.
