Arsonist Begins His Search

“I’ve taken care of her.” Marcus’s words were clipped.
“I’m going to find her!” I countered. I grabbed my jacket and left. “You won’t make it!” Marcus called to my back.

I remembered Marcus and Wendy arguing this morning over who would take it. They said Belagio. So I hailed a cab and had him drop me off there, all the way scanning for Wendy.

She had an incredible sense of direction! I was positive she wouldn’t have gotten lost. She might be posing as a 21 year old gambler inside any of these hotels, though. I wouldn’t put it past her.

But I had a sinking feeling she wasn’t here. I asked at the front desk of several businesses for her, but of course they hadn’t heard of her. How would a delivery go down?

She probably didn’t speak to anyone! No one would know her by name. She probably only spoke to the contact, and my guess was, he was working for Marcus and was the enemy!

Where would Marcus hide somebody? The warehouse district? Probably not. I needed leads. And fast.
