Audrey and the Potato-Salad-Loving-People

Audrey wiped her eyes daintily before returning the hankerchief to Robin. “Thank you, dearest,” she smiled fretfully. “I can’t imagine what’s come over me.”
Robin looked around them for a moment. “It’s perfectly natural; we are at your mother’s funeral on what’s supposed to be our wedding day.”
Audrey considered this. It made sense, but it simply couldn’t be the reason she was crying. Afterall, most of the people in her life had died on what was supposed to be a joyous occassion. And still more had simply not shown up.
But, there had to be a reason for her eyes to be an attractive colour of red!
“No, that’s not it, Robin, dearest. I don’t know what it is, but I hope to find out.” With resolution and determination in her eyes, Audrey rose from the winding staircase and thrust herself into a throng of potato-salad-loving-people.
