Ah, Twin Sisters Can Be a Pain, huh?

“What are you doing?”

Crap.

“Huh?”

“C’mon, Leah. I’m not stupid. What are you holding behind your back?”

Oh, crap, crap, crap.

“I’m not holding anything behind my back, Liz.”

“Mm, hm. Sure. Show me Leah.”

“You’re not my mom.” I might as well use my defensive mode.

“No, you’re right. I’m not you’re mom. But I might as well be. Our real mom doesn’t give a damn about us. So c’mon, show me the cigarette. I know that’s what it is.”

“What? A cigarette? You really think I’d sink that low?”

Liz just stared at me. I stared back.

Grr…

She’s a lot better at this than me.

“Okay, okay. Fine. Here ya go.” I threw the still smoking cigarette at her feet and marched away.

Who the hell did she think she was, getting all up in my life? I had been correct. She wasn’t my mom.

She was just my twin.
