Hello, Subconscious

“Winter or summer?” he asked.

It was a game we played when we were driving together in his car, and either-or kind of thing. Pick one. Just say the answer that comes to your lips the quickest. No hesitation. You might not believe it, but once you get into the swing of the game, it’s really revealing.

“Winter!” I said, spitfire fast.

“Country or city?”

“City. C’mon, you already know that.”

He smiled. I love it when he smiles. Something lights up behind his crystal-blue eyes. He can never fake anger. His eyes always give him away.

“Blue or red?”

“Red. Definatly red.”

“Cats or dogs?”

“Cats. Seriously. Didn’t I ever tell you I got bit by a dog?” His smile widened, easily encompasing half of his face.

“Left or right?”

“Left. I am left handed.”

“Now or later?”

“Now.”

“Tell you or don’t tell you?”

“Tell- wait. Tell me what?” I asked, raising an eyebrow.

He hesitated, sighed. He was struggling inside. “That you’re easily the most amazing girl I have ever met.”
