My personal favorite was, ”…liked being proper-like.” Nice, although his brother would call him ‘Sweet’, but under such a strange, stressful situation I could see them slipping and saying ‘Virgil’.

Well, I used the italics to emphasize that since he was the “proper” one, he was the one that should go talk to him. It worked nicely in my head…

Ah, now I get it. That does make perfect sense, the brother teasing him with the given name to emphasize why he should do it. Genius! And I’m not just saying that because I’m tired and punch-drunk.
