Afterlight (A City Of Villains Story Part 4)

She remembered it all.

When she entered the bank, it was like somebody pushed her aside, borrowed her body. She came up to the teller and withdrew $100,000.

After going through a few security procedures the bank used in the case of such large amounts, she walked out of the bank and drove across town. She came up to the security gate to Perez Park and, after quietly bribing the guards, walked through the gate.

She strolled, casually, into the park and walked up to the leader of a large group of young men. “Well? Is it done?”

“Yeah, we sent yer message,” he said. “That lawyer ain’t gonna bother you or yer friends. Ever.” He grinned maliciously.

“And his wife and daughter?”

“They won’t be gettin’ outta the hospital for…”

“You idiot!” she screamed. “Was I not clear enough? Was ‘no survivors’ too complicated for your under-developed brain?! The deal’s off. I won’t pay for such shoddy work!”

“That,” the leader said, “is not a good idea. Boys, show her what happens when you double-cross the Hellions.”
