“What sounds like a date?” Janie asked Evan and Ana, stepping into James’ home.
The two turned to look at her.
“What are you doing here?” Ana asked, flustered that someone had overheard her flirting with Evan.
“Chris has practice this morning, so I decided to come over and help. Mrs. James said everyone was in here. So what’s a date?”
“Oh, Chris and I are just, uh, going out, to, um, lunch,” Ana said nonchalantly. “It’s nothing.”
“Well, you better not let Rach hear you,” Janie said.
Just as Evan was about to ask why, Rachel appeared with Lili behind her. “Not let Rachel hear what?”
